Hakurei Turnip Recipe
This recipe is carefully crafted to be used easily with Cooking with Amma Hakurei Turnip Spice Mix
What You Need
- Either
1 packet of Hakurei Turnip Spice Mix (included in Cooking with Amma Hakurei Turnip Greens Spice Mix packaging)
-or-
2 tsp. of Hakurei Turnip Spice Mix (included in Cooking with Amma Hakurei Turnip Greens Spice Mix glass jar) - Either
1 packet of Carom Seeds+Hing Spice Mix (included in Cooking with Amma Hakurei Turnip Greens Spice Mix packaging)
-or-
1 tsp. of Carom Seeds+Hing Spice Mix (included in Cooking with Amma Hakurei Turnip Greens Spice Mix glass jar packaging) - 1 bunch of greens from the Hakurei turnip
- 1 bunch of chopped Hakurei turnip
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tbsp. Olive oil
Directions
- Wash really well, 1 bunch of greens from the Hakurei turnip.
- Chop 1 bunch of Hakurei turnip along with the Hakurei turnip bunch.
- Chop both the greens and the Hakurei turnip.
- Add chopped greens and chopped turnip to a pot of boiling water with 1 tsp. of salt.
- Boil covered, on high heat, the greens and turnips until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Let the greens and turnips cool.
- Then, squeeze all water out, with your palms, of the softened greens and turnips.
- Place the greens and turnips in a bowl, and add 1 packet of Hakurei Turnip Spice Mix or 2 tsp. of Hakurei Turnip Spice Mix from glass jar.
- Add 1 tbsp. Olive oil, 1 packet of Carom Seeds+Hing Spice Mix or 1 tsp. of Carom Seeds+Hing Spice Mix from glass jar packaging to a nonstick skillet. Sauté on medium heat for 2 minutes.
- Add the greens with mixed spices in the bowl to the skillet. Sauté for about 3 minutes.
- Enjoy your greens as a side with any meal such as saga (spinach) and rice or chickpeas and rice.
